After reviewing class options, scroll down to find the teacher of your selected class or classes and click on the registration button by their name. Each teacher will handle their own registration and billing. Classes are offered as semester commitments and tuitions are listed in per semester amounts. Tuition may be paid in one upfront payment or divided into equal installment payments.

Project Days
Tuition:
$120 semester
$35 for single class
On our project days, we will undertake a larger activity that we wouldn’t normally be able to accomplish in a usual single hour class. The students will leave each day with a completed project to take home. These projects will range from repurposing old items into useful new ones to arts and crafts to learning and utilizing new skills!
Projects: Nifty Thrifters - Repurposing thrift store finds, Cross Stitch Day, Wood Workers, DIY Decor
Book Club
Tuition: $120
Over the course of these eight weeks, we will be reading through an age-appropriate book together while discussing the different parts of the narrative such as conflict and resolution, author’s purpose, characters, setting, etc. I will ask upper-level thinking questions about the story each week in order to foster engaging discussions amongst the students.
Unit Study Days
Tuition: $180
At our one day unit studies, we learn about and dive deeper into one specific topic. Every month is an exciting new subject! We integrate all areas of learning from language arts and math, to science and art. Throughout the day, students participate in multiple hands-on activities that add enrichment and depth to that month’s topic.
Drama
Tuition: $200
*SHOWCASE DATES 3/27 & 3/28, STUDENTS MUST COMMIT TO BEING AT BOTH PERFORMANCES TO JOIN CLASS
We will meet once a week over the course of 8 weeks to explore and practice various areas of the theatre world, such as improvisation and character development. Through drama, we will develop oral communication skills, motivation and commitment, cooperative skills, and so much more! At the end of the two months, we will put on a small production to show off all that we have learned.

World Cultures
Tuition: $50
Learn about different countries/regions of the globe through an immersion in the culture. We'll cover both physical and human geography of the area. A cultural experience wouldn't be complete without tasting some of the country's cuisine. Join our group as we explore these far-off places and develop cultural awareness.
Bushcraft Kids
Tuition: $100
Learn survival skills and outdoor living as we learn about using the resources the land provides. Kids can learn how to build shelters, start fires, find food & water, and navigate through the wilderness.

Stitch & Crochet Club

In this class, we will discuss the basics of how to complete a cross stitch pattern, create cute crocheted creations, as well as introduce other projects with yarn and thread.
Marine Biology
*Ages 10+*
Tuition: $370.00
In this class, we will follow the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards for Marine Biology I. We will cover topics such as the importance of species diversity to the biological resources needed by human populations, the effects of natural phenomena, dichotomous classification keys, and more! We will also dissect marine species and incorporate STEAM activities throughout the course. This Class Includes: Lecture and lab for 13- 2-hour classes @ $10/hr; Shark Dissection - kit included in overall course price. ($25.00); - *USM Marine Education Center field trip included in the overall course price. ($65) Date: Friday, May 2, 2025. This Coastal Science Day will be an all-day trip to their facility in Ocean Springs, MS.
Yearbook/Graphic Design

Interested in photography and making memories? Want to learn about sales goals and managing deadlines? Enjoy working as a team to create something that will stand the test of time? Join Yearbook Staff and Graphic Design to help create The Country Schoolhouse's yearbook for the 2024-2025 school year. In this class, we will practice photography techniques, learn how to edit photos, design page layouts, and create a stand - out yearbook. Join this class, and let's continue the tradition of memorable yearbooks with The Country Schoolhouse. **This class is a continuation of the Graphic Design class that was offered in the fall, but the fall class is not a prerequisite. We are welcoming new students in the spring semester.
Writing

Communicating is an essential skill. Whether you want to improve your writing skills for the future ACT or to prepare yourself for college, this Writing course will help you learn how to synthesize your ideas, create quality content, and share research with the community. This course will include writing in science, fictional writing, persuasive writing, and more!
Decades Days
*Ages 10+*
Tuition: $120.00
Travel through time in this new class with Bennett Homeschooling! In this class, we will discuss popular trends, play games, make delicious era-specific foods, listen to well-known tunes, read interesting trivia and historical facts, and so much more! Students are encouraged to wear decade-specific attire! Decade Schedule: 3/6 (1920's), 3/20 (1950's), 4/3 (1960's), 4/17 (1970's), 5/1 (1980's), 5/8 (1990's).
Science Fair

In this class, we will practice the scientific method and prepare for the Regional USM Science Fair (optional). Students will complete their science fair project in class. We will discuss all of the components required in local and regional science fairs as well as practice scientific writing skills. This class includes: Lecture and Lab for 4-2 hour classes @ $10/hr. Film Club

In this class, students will participate in film analyses using ELA standards from the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards. We will watch films as a class and discuss topics such as the following: narration, editing, sound, cinematic techniques, and the film's purpose.

Health
Tuition: $240
Health class will include classroom and hands-on experiences that help students acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for making healthy decisions, achieving health literacy, adopting health-enhancing behaviors, and promoting the health of others. In this course of study, emphasis is placed on personal, social, and mental health in today’s society. It includes instruction on human growth and development, disease prevention and control, substance abuse and prevention, community and environmental health, nutrition and wellness, and safety and first aid. Students will receive instruction that is clearly relevant to today’s rapidly changing world. Classes will be designed to spark student interest and enthusiastic participation.
Note: This course will function as a great introductory program for middle grades students. For High School students, who intend to count this class on their transcripts (one-semester high school course offering .5 Carnegie units of credit), they should complete supplemental reading and basic assignments outside of the classroom, at their own pace, to fulfill all state standard requirements for completion. A suggested supplemental plan for course completion for High Schoolers will be provided for HS students registering for this course. Public Speaking
Tuition: $120
Skill in oral communication helps students to think logically, clearly, and creatively. This course includes instruction in how to acquire, analyze, and evaluate information in order to make clear and concise public presentations. We will go through the steps of choosing topics, writing a speech, learn productive habits and skills to help deliver effective speeches. Please be aware that some speech preparations will have to be done outside of the classroom in order to be able to complete all required speeches during the course.
Note: This course will function as a great introductory program for middle grades students. For High School students who intend to count this class on their transcripts, (Oral Communications: one-semester high school course offering .5 Carnegie units of credit) they will need to complete supplemental reading and assignments outside of the classroom, at their own pace, to fulfill all state standard requirements for completion. A suggested supplemental plan for course completion for High Schoolers will be provided for HS students registering for this course.
